Rajmah Beans 2
cans, drained and rinsed under running water
·
Oil 2

Cumin seeds 1
tsp

Onions 2, medium-sized chopped
·
Ginger 2"piece of julienned
·
Garlic 6 cloves
·
Tomatoes 2 large, chopped
·
Green chillies 2,
chopped fine
·
Coriander powder 2

Cumin powder 1
tsp
·
Garam masala 1
tsp
·
Turmeric powder ¼
tsp
·
Salt to taste
·
Asafetida A
pinch

Method
to prepare Rajmah Masala in Punjabi Style?
·
Take a frying pan, pour cooking oil and heat it
·
Add the cumin seeds. Once they stop sizzling, add the onion and sauté
·
Next add the ginger and garlic and sauté for some time, say 2 min
·
Now add the green chillies, tomatoes, coriander, cumin, turmeric
and garam masala powders to it and fry till the oil separates
·
It is time to Add the red kidney beans, 3 cups of warm water,
asafetida and salt
·
Cook till beans are very soft and tender
·
Mash some of the beans roughly so that the gravy will be thickened
