Mumbai Pav Bhaji the name itself makes you mouth-watering. It is one of the famous and fabulous Mumbai street dish. As everyone is craving for this street side-dish Pav Bhaji recipe, I’m sharing it here at Boil ’n’ Fry. It is very simple to prepare. All you need to have is Pav buns and simple ingredients to prepare bhaji.  So here goes Mumbai Favorite Pav Bhaji Recipe!!

Ingredients Required to prepare Mumbai Pav Bhaji

·         Pavs brown                                        8
·         Oil                                                      3 tbsp for shallow-frying
·         Onions                                                Medium, chopped
·         Green chilli                                        1, chopped
·         Ginger-garlic paste                            1 tbsp
·         Tomatoes                                           3 medium sized, chopped
·         Green capsicum                                 1
·         Green peas                                         ¼ cup, blanched and mashed
·         Potatoes                                              4, boiled and grated
·         Pav bhaji masala                                1 ½ tbsp
·         Salt to taste
·         Coriander                                           1 tbsp, chopped
·         Lemon juice                                       1 tbsp

How to Prepare Spicy Mumbai Pav Bhaji?

·         Heat 2 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan and add 3/4th of the chopped onions
·         Sauté till light golden
·         Add the green chilli and ginger-garlic paste. Stir-fry for 30 sec
·         Pour half of chopped tomatoes. Cook on medium heat for 3-4 minutes, or till the oil separates from the                masala. Stir continuously
·         Now add the capsicum, green peas, potatoes and 1 cup of water. Bring it to a boil
·         Now simmer for 10 minutes, pressing with back of the spoon a few times, till all the vegetables are                    completely mashed
·         Now add the pav bhaji masala, salt and the remaining tomatoes
·         Cook on medium flame while stirring continuously for 2 minutes or till the gravy is thick and of spreading              consistency
·         Add the chopped coriander, lemon juice and 1 tbsp oil and remove from heat. Let it cool slightly
·         It’s time to Slit the pavs without cutting through and spread some of the pav bhaji on the lower half
·         Apply some oil on the both the outer surfaces of the pav
·         Heat non-stick tawa, place the pavs on them and roast on low heat till golden and crisp on the outside
