How to make spicy Aloo Choley Masala recipe in Punjabi Style
Aloo Choley Masala curry is a punjabi dish made with Potatoes and Choley (white chic peas). It is very popular in North India and loved by almost everyone. It can be served as side dish or as a tea time meal. Aloo choley is very delicious and easy to prepare with simple combination of boiled chic peas and fried potatoes, which are cooked in the aromatic masala of onion, tomatoes and various home masalas. Without taking more time, here is the recipe for Aloo Choley Masala.

Ingredients Required to Make Aloo Choley

·         Choley                  1 cup
·         Water                   3¾ cup
·         Potato                  1 big
·         Ginger                  1 inch
·         Turmeric              ½ tsp
·         Zeera                    1 tsp, powdered
·         Green chilli         2
·         Oil                           2 tbsp
·         Red chilli              ½ tsp
·         Onion                    1
·         Garam masala   ½ tsp
·         Salt to taste
·         Fresh mint          ½ cup
·         Lemon                  1 tbsp juice

Method to prepare Spicy Aloo Choley Masala

·         Soak choley in cool water for overnight. Wash and drain
·         Chop green chilli. Peel and cut potato into small cubes,chop ginger. Chop onion into fine slices
·         Add soaked choley, ginger, and water to pressure cooker. Cook for 20 minutes or till choley cooked to soft and tender. Once done, let the steam go by itself
·         Now add potato cubes, red chili powder and chopped green chilli. Close the lid and cook again for 20 minutes or till the potato is cooked
·         Take a frying pan, pour oil, heat it and add chopped onion. Fry till light brown
·         Add fried onion, salt and garam masala to choley and mix well
·         Put off the flame. Add chopped mint leaves and lemon juice.
·         Serve hot with onion and lemon salad
